Instructions
Preheat a heavy flat griddle or skillet over medium to low heat.
In a bowl, place flour and salt, then sift in baking soda.
Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and pour in the buttermilk.
Quickly mix everything to form a wet dough.
On a well-floured surface, knead the dough very lightly.
Shape the dough into a flattened circle, about ½ inch thick.
With a floured knife, cut the dough into quarters.
Lightly sprinkle some flour over the base of the hot pan.
Cook the farls for 6 to 8 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
