Notes
Tips and Tricks
Use Whole Spices
Whole cloves, cinnamon sticks, and allspice berries give better flavor and can be removed easily.
Don’t Boil
Heat until hot but not boiling to keep the cider smooth and prevent bitterness.
Keep Warm
If serving at a party, transfer to a slow cooker on the warm setting.
Ingredient Substitutions
Maple Syrup
You can use honey or brown sugar if you don’t have maple syrup.
Apple Cider
Unsweetened apple juice works if cider isn’t available, though the flavor will be lighter.
