potatoes
peeled and halved

cup
milk
1
bunch
green onions
thinly sliced

butter
cut into pieces
salt
to taste
fresh ground black pepper
to taste
Instructions
Place potatoes in a large pot and cover them with salted water. Bring the water to a boil.
Turn the heat down to medium-low and let the potatoes simmer until they're soft, which should take about 20 minutes.
Drain the water from the potatoes and then put them back in the pot. Cover them with a clean dish towel.
Set the pot on the stove over very low heat to let the potatoes dry out for 2 to 3 minutes.
While the potatoes are drying, put the milk and green onion in a small saucepan. Heat them over medium-low heat until warm, about 3 to 4 minutes.
Once the potatoes are dry, add butter and salt to the pot. Mash everything together with a potato masher until the mixture is smooth.
Mix the warm milk and green onion into the mashed potatoes until everything is well combined.
Add pepper to taste.
