Tips and Tricks

Preparing the Pork Tenderloin

Cut the pork tenderloin into uniform ½ inch cubes to ensure even cooking. This helps the meat brown evenly and cook through properly without drying out.

Handling the Chorizo

Slice the chorizo sausages into even pieces for consistent flavor throughout the dish. If the chorizo has a casing, you might want to remove it for a better texture.

Enhancing Bean Puree

When blending the black beans and water, aim for a slightly chunky texture rather than a smooth puree. This will give the dish a heartier feel and ensure the beans retain some texture.

Optimizing Flavor

Allow the garlic and onion to cook until the onion is fully soft and translucent. This step enhances the flavor base of your dish, making the overall taste richer and more complex.

Simmering for Flavor

Letting the mixture simmer for a full 30 minutes allows all the flavors to meld together. If you have extra time, simmer for an additional 10-15 minutes for an even deeper flavor profile.

Seasoning

Season gradually with salt and pepper. Taste the dish halfway through the simmering process and adjust the seasoning as needed. Remember, you can always add more salt, but you can’t take it out.

Serving Suggestions

Serve the stew with a side of rice or crusty bread to soak up the delicious broth. Adding a dollop of sour cream or a sprinkle of fresh cilantro can also enhance the final presentation and taste.
