The recipe is straightforward and easy to follow. Whether you’re a new baker or have more experience, you’ll find it enjoyable to make.
Crunchy Walnuts and Sweet Raisins
Chopped walnuts and raisins are mixed into the batter. They add a nice crunch and a touch of sweetness that everyone will like.
Great for Any Occasion
This cake is perfect for family dinners, parties, or just because. The orange glaze not only tastes good but also makes the cake look nice.
Tips and Tricks
Substitutions
If you don’t have butter-flavored shortening, you can use regular shortening or unsalted butter. This won’t change the texture much, and the cake will still taste good.
Enhancing Nut Flavor
To make the walnuts taste even better, toast them before adding to the batter. Place them in a dry pan over medium heat for a few minutes until they smell fragrant.
Preventing the Cake from Sticking
After greasing the bundt pan, sprinkle a little flour inside and tap out the excess. This helps the cake come out easily after baking.
Measuring Flour the Right Way
Spoon the cake flour into your measuring cup and level it off with a knife. This gives you an accurate measurement and keeps the cake light.
Adjusting the Glaze
If the glaze is too thick, add a bit more orange juice until it’s just right. If it’s too thin, mix in a little more powdered sugar.
Storing the Cake
Keep the cake in an airtight container. This will help it stay moist and fresh for several days.
