Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich Recipe

Ingredients
- olive oil as needed
- ½ lb rare deli beef sliced extra thin
- 1 green bell pepper thinly sliced
- 1 onion thinly sliced
- 2 tsp garlic minced
- salt as needed
- ground black pepper as needed
- ½ lb provolone cheese thinly sliced
- 2 large sub rolls
Instructions
- Preheat a griddle to medium/high heat.
- Add olive oil and spread to cover hot griddle.
- On the griddle, add bell pepper and onion. Stir and cook until the onions caramelize. Approximately 6 – 8 minutes.
- Add garlic, salt, and pepper. Cook approximately 30 – 40 seconds. Move to one side of griddle to keep warm.
- In the center of the griddle, add beef. Cook stirring, flipping, and breaking into pieces until no longer pink. Approximately 2 minutes.
- Move the onion mixture into the beef and stir to combine.
- Separate the mixture into 2 equal sized portions.
- Place cheese on each portion.
- Cut out some of the center of the sub roll to make more room for the beef mix.
- When is has melted place the sub roll inside down on top of the beef mix.
- Using 2 spatulas, flip the sandwich over, and close.
- Serve immediately.
