  • Preheat oven to 375° F.
  • Place a small saucepan over medium heat.
  • In a saucepan, heat up the cream with a sprig of thyme, chopped garlic and nutmeg.
  • In the saucepan, add cream, garlic, thyme, and nutmeg. Stir occasionally until heated through.
  • In the meantime, in a casserole dish, Arrange potato slices in rows that overlap slightly over the bottom of the casserole dish, making one layer.
  • Season the potatoes with salt and pepper.
  • Pour part of the heated cream mixture over the potatoes.
  • Sprinkle some of the parmesan cheese over the layer.
  • Repeat the steps for 2 additional layers.
  • In preheated oven, bake uncovered for 45 minutes.
  • Sprinkle some Parmesan cheese on top.
  • Turn oven to Broil. Broil for approximately 5 minutes, or until the cheese has browned.
